Summary: Great way to clean my floors |
| |
I used to clean my floors by hand to get them clean, now I just use this steam mop. I have to clean my floors quite often because I have two little ones. I didn't want to spend the money on a Swiffer and continue buying refill after refill. Anyway, this mop is easy to use and gets the job done. The floors are wet after I clean them, so I just put a couple of rags under my feet and walk around to pick up the excess water. I would like it even more if the handle were a little longer, but it works just fine. Overall, I'm really glad I bought it.

I did a lot of research and reading of reviews before I decided to purchase the Eureka Envirosteamer. According to every review I read, it is the best of the steam mops. I set out on a quest to find one locally, but had no luck in my city or several surrounding cities. This is the only flaw I have found; you cannot find this machine in any store and have to order it online.
When it arrived I was excited, but apprehensive that it wouldn't live up to my expectations. There was no need to worry, it met and exceeded every expectation I had. It heats up fast, even faster than the 3 minutes it states in the directions, it is lightweight and moves very easily over the floor, there is little elbow grease required, it cleans simply by gliding lightly over the floor. It is so easy to use that I have been using it every day, rotating what room I use it in.
I did read a review from someone who said kitchen towels work better than the pads that come with it and they were right, a plain kitchen towel does a superior cleaning job to the pads provided. I think this is because the pads they send you are very thick and the steam has a hard time getting through them.
I would recommend this machine to anyone; you won't be disappointed.

Summary: I'm putting mine on Craigslist. Don't waste your money. |

Mopping is #2 on my "Household Chores I Hate" list (second only to washing dishes by hand). I'd seen several floor steamers advertised on television and decided I'd love to have one. I poured over reviews for days until I settled on purchasing this one.
Don't waste your money. It's no better than a Swiffer WetJet or any other similar gimmick. As a matter of fact, my Swiffer does a better job than this thing because the Swiffer will actually get the edge of the floor and corners. The steamer can only clean up to about an inch away from the baseboards. I have a little half bathroom under our staircase and it uses a full tank of water just to clean that tiny little room. Also it goes so, so, so much slower than mopping. I can mop a floor as fast as my arms can scrub, but you have to be deliberately slow with the steamer. It's also very hard to push; and I can't explain it, but the handle is really annoying.
I think it's a good idea in general, but it just isn't quite there yet. The only praise I have is that it does leave very little water behind, and the floors are dry much faster than mopping.

I like most everything about this product except I'm not sure about the reusable pad. It says to just rinse it out after use, but it never looks clean. Even after washing, it still looks dirty. On the plus side, I clean a very large area of ceramic tile, a laundry/mud room, kitchen, front hallway, and the water recepticle only has to be filled twice. I added an extension cord so I didn't have to unplug to clean my entire area. Swivel head is nice. Does a good job, floor is clean after use as I have checked it with a white towel!

Summary: This steamer does not disappoint |

I ordered this steamer after checking reviews of several models. I'm SO glad I ordered the Enviro Steamer! It's easy to fill with water and only takes a few minutes to start steaming. It just glides over the floor, and I love the fact that my floors dry almost instantly, which means I can move furniture, clean the floor, and move the furniture right back. I use it on all my hardwood floors and on vinyl flooring in the bathroom and laundry room. It works great on both floors. I highly recommend.
