SteamFast SF- Description

The SteamFast SF-275 SteamMax Steam Cleaner is your all around professional grade steam cleaning device. The SteamFast SF-275 has an efficient heating system that can provide powerful steam in a few minutes. It only needs water and does not require chemical cleaning agents. It is very friendly to the environment and safe to use around the house.

Excellent machine for the home.1 hour per tank of water is pretty good. Warm-up time is a little long, but not too bad. Lots of brush extras...but no where to put them?!? Hmmmm... thank God for a shopping bag. Very portable. Steam flow is consistent. Be careful moving the machine while in action because you might get a shot of hot water instead of steam coming out the nozzle. The first couple of seconds after initial blasting will be water too. Overall... great home appliance. Very good value for the price.

I have been using this unit for around 12 months and it is reliable, generates ample steam, and cleans wooden floors and bathroom floor tiles effortlessly. I will never go back to chemical cleaners, this unit is so much faster and requires less muscle power. Once in a while the steam stops, this is due to the hose twisting. I use an extension cord to complete the job in my 2 bedroom unit. In my experience the accessories are not useful. I tried it to remove shower scum (didn't work well), it was easier to simply use elbow grease with a mild cleaner and scrub.

I have a completely tile bathroom--on the floor, on the counters and in the shower. White grout everywhere! It's been about 3 months since I really did a deep clean in the bathroom and the grout was starting to collect mildew and soap scum. I decided to try this machine. Years ago I had a hand-held steam shark that I liked but it has long since broken. This machine is a step up from the hand-held that I had before. It came well packaged and it was easy to figure out how to set up. I spent about 2 hours cleaning all the grout and tile and it looks like brand new. Wow! It took some time but the results are fantastic. It came with a nice assortment of attachments. I did notice a couple of drawbacks--1) the grout attachments don't hold up very well and the brush gets all squished down after about an hour but you can order extras from the company and they are fairly inexpensive 2) There is a button on the wand to leave the steam on so you don't need to hold it down--that's a nice feature but once it's on--it's very difficult to turn off. All in all, I think it's a great product and I would highly recommend it.

I did a lot of research before deciding to buy the SteamFast SF-275. I wanted an all purpose steamer in the $89-125 range. I'm glad I did my homework. There were a few other steamers I might have bought but this one came so highly recommended by nearly everyone who left a review on every site. Having never used a steamer before I didn't know what to expect. I can tell you now, though, I have not been disappointed! This little guy is great. I've cleaned tough mildewed shower grout, mild rust spots off the bathroom counter, got rid of a mildew odor from the bottom of my couch, steamed all bedroom pillows to get rid of dust mites and other allergins (it really works great), and finally got my 25+ year-old kitch floor looking like new! It really does do just about everything. You do have to do quite a bit of scrubbing when you clean a dirty area for the first time and this is the ONLY reason why I give it four stars. I suppose that's to be expected, but after the initial elbow grease, keeping it maintained is as easy as "wanding" and wiping. No chemicals!!! Here's a few tips/recommendations to help you when you use it: * Buy a pair of heavy latex or rubber gloves. I bought a pair that are used for paint stripping. Be sure that they are comfortable enough to bend your fingers and wear for an extended period of time. This will help prevent accidental steam burns. DO NOT think that because you are wearing gloves that you can expose your gloved hand to the direct steam. * I have allergies to mold and mildew. When you use steam to clean you are blasting it with hot water and killing it but the spores could become airborne or be released in the steam itself. I find it best to wear a mask that is made for mildew/mold. If you can't afford the $30+ model even the just above basic paper mask, that is thick and has a filter, works very well. * Be sure to keep the area well ventilated. Steam isn't poisonous like chemicals but the room will start to get humid if you don't. * Don't ever, EVER use warm or hot water on cat urine. This will set the smell. Avoid using any steamer on carpets that have had kitty accidents. Also, if you have hardwood floors under your carpets, even if you've had no pets, I'd skip this too. Unless the hardwood floor has had several layers of shellack before the carpet was installed pet ordors can still be draw up. Even if there hasn't been an animal in the house for 10-15 years it's possible. * Be sure to sweep the floors and remove any loose dirt from surfaces before you steam. There's nothing like trying to wipe up extra "gunk." I hope those help out. I love this steamer and I think you will too!

The product arrived as described with all attachments. Instructions were clear regarding it's operation - how to fill the tank and basic operating procedures. It would have been nice to have the instructions explain what each attachment was intended to clean. You are left wondering what attachment to use for which cleaning job. The instructions don't explain how to clean upholstery. I've used it to clean tiled and hard wood floors - it did a marvelous job on that! It took a few times of practice to figure out how to best clean the bathtub (again because of lack of specific instructions). I found that if you spray your shower with Scrub-free brand bath cleaner, let it sit for a few minutes and then use the triagular shaped attachment to the steamer hose, it works best for getting rid of soap scum. All in all, I'm very happy I bought it! Also, it's tough to store - there are several little parts and attachments. I'll have to buy something to keep everything together.
