I have been very happy with the Wagner Steam Cleaner with two exceptions. One of the springs on the mop-head broke after one use. A phone call to Wagner had another mop-head on its way in less than 24 hours. Very good customer service. The other exception is that there was only one cloth included with the steamer. In my house, it doesn't take long to soil one (double-sided) white cloth, so I've had to cut up old hand towels to use. If need be, Wagner should slightly increase the price to include more mop-head cleaning cloths.

I did a lot of research before I ordered this item. For the "class" of steam cleaners, this one works as it says it will. I did find myself wondering around the house looking for something new to clean. Even though it's not a handheld unit, it's easy to use and put away. The only negative thing I can say about it is that I wish the steam evaporated after using it...you do have to wipe up the water. The reason I bought it was to clean some windows that had mold and dirt on them in a house that was not lived in for a year that I was remodeling. It did a great job.

I have had this steamer for nearly a month now. I bought it here at Amazon after reading reviews of it and other steamers. It arrived in a neat box, very well packed by the manufacturer. I had no problem setting it up. Contrary to some people who have reported it to be noisy, I would not say that at all. It is steam and it is under pressure, but I don't find it noisy.
My kitchen, inside out, including the cabinet doors, venthood, cooktop, oven etc are all shiny now. My bathrooms too. And it is so easy to use. I stopped scrubbing. I spray tiles with steam and wipe. The vent hood was the toughest job because the grime was thick inside there, but I got it all. And after soaking the screens I steamed them and they are clean and ready to go back in. I vacuum the floors and steam them, and they shine like never before. My house is 10 years old and what I steam-cleaned looks like new. I have a shiny black fridge that was a pain to clean, always leaving wiping marks, so I used the window Squeegee on the door and with no effort it is perfect. What I really like is that it smells fresh after cleaning, no chemicals remnants floating in the air. The only time I have used bleach after the steaming is around the bottom grout of my shower stall. The tiles are all white and the grout in the angles was nasty. The glass enclosure and glass door were steamed with the squeegee in no time at all and no wipe marks left. I have not done the windows yet. It does the job really fast compared to scrubbing with elbow grease!
The water capacity is excellent: I never had to refill during a cleaning session.
I do recommend this steamer.

Summary: Great steam cleaner - powerful steam! |
| |
I owned the Scunci hand-held steam cleaner a few years ago and liked it...but it broke a few years ago after a few years' use, and i've been without one since, so I went on the hunt of another steam cleaner, and after reading all the good reviews for the Wagner 905, I decided to give it a try. I just got my Wagner 905 steam cleaner today and have taken on cleaning the mildew out of the crevices of our shower (which is one of the main reasons i bought it). It did a great job on the mildew!! Like some others said...it does not seem to be doing too good a job on soap scum, though. I'm going to try some soap scum remover/cleaner and then do some more steaming if i need to after that. That being said, I've let the soap scum and mildew build up for longer than I'd like to admit, so if your shower has less soap scum than mine, then maybe the Wagner 905 would work better for you on the soap scum. The steamer made quick work of removing the mildew in the crevices, let me tell you! I will say, it IS LOUD because it is so powerful (reminds me of the noise of an air compressor makes when the air comes out (not the motor part of the compressor, but the air-flow part).....so I would DEFINITELY recommend using hearing protection while using this...at least in the bathroom/a smaller space. But it is much more powerful steam than I remember the Scunci hand-held steamer having! And it seems to be built very well/sturdy. It comes with a little funnel, but I wish it would have also come with a measuring cup, though. Overall, based on my results so far, I would definitely recommend this product!

The main reason I bought the steamer is becuase the previous owners of our house hired one of those "creative finish" businesses to remodel the master bathroom. This involved spraying a multispek, non-skid coating on the 55-year old tiles. It looked great, but NOTHING gets it clean (it's off-white) and you have to be really careful about chemicals. In short, a pain to clean.
This product worked as well as anything I've used, but not better. It's okay for floors. I also have a lighter floor in my kitchen and was really excited to see some reviewers who had the same really liked the product. Clearly, they mop/clean more than I do. Again, it's as good as chemicals so I'll continue to use it. I also, as one reviewer said, think the more I use it, the more layers of grime I will go through and it may become more effective on the floors.
I do LOVE it for baseboards, that gross junk around faucets, and around the bottom of the toilet where it meets the floor. I would say it's good for the small, weird stuff in hard-to-get-to places.
DO NOT USE THIS ON WOOD FLOORS! I am amazed at the number of reviewers who use this on real wood floors. It will warp them, it's STEAM!
Cons: No outside water gague so you're supposed to empty the tank before you fill it up each time (you can't see how much water is in the tank), needs a retractable cord or cleats to wind the cord on, and the cord/hose placements are a little awkward.
Pros: Lightweight, no chemicals, great to clean tough areas, washable pad, will pay for itself after a while because of not buying a lot of the cleaners I normally buy.
